 Symbian Operating System is one of the main operating system used in Indian mobile market.It was developed by Symbian Ltd.Later Nokia purchased that company.Now it is widely used in Nokia mobiles.The Operating system is now open sourced.The OS is mainly developed to deliver high performance  at low battery consumption.It is a multitasking OS and all applications are designed for parallel execution.

  When compared to Android OS,battery life is more in Symbian mobile phones.But online applications are more in Android OS.Even though both support games,Symbian has high Java support .So Symbian shows high game performance.But the number of downloadable games are less in Symbian compared to Android.Both Operating systems are fighting each other in terms of performance and usability.Price of Symbian mobiles are a little bit higher than Android which makes Android in a better position over Symbian OS in Indian market.
